Center for the Creator Economy at Newhouse
The Center for the Creator Economy is the first academic center of its kind. Its interdisciplinary work rests on four pillars: interdisciplinary academics, independent industry research, policy engagement, and support for creator-based ventures built by Syracuse students, faculty, and alumni. In practice, that means the Center is educating the next generation of professionals across the entire creator value chain (which includes on-camera talent while also encompassing the many jobs that support the creator behind-the-scenes), researching and publishing independent studies on platform dynamics, monetization, algorithmic implications, authenticity, and audience behavior, and convening the platforms, brands, creators, and policymakers shaping the industry’s future, through events in New York, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and Syracuse. This is how the Center is defining the discipline, leading the Industry.
